“The Colour of My Love”.
This is a small comment fic, done for the dear Lady Jenna (gsr_rocks) – in lieu of this prompt: How about anything involving either Grissom/Heather or Catherine/Heather? Both pairing are so scarcely used that anything with either will make me squee. :D

And this is the response I got: *bounces*

That was perfect. Utterly and unbelievably perfect. I do not think that it can get any better than that. Thank you very much, Kelly. I appreciate the lovely comment fic more than I can say. It really cheered me up. :)

I won't be able to sleep now. I'm too happy from finally reading a new G/LH piece. :D

While I was writing this, I was reminded of Celine Dion’s “The Colour of My Love”.

The Colour of My Love – Celine Dion
I’ll paint my mood in shades of blue
Paint my soul to be with you
I’ll sketch your lips in shaded tones
Draw your mouth to my own

“I’m sorry for what happened,” His voice seemed to almost crack as he spoke, you would think he’s speaking on the phone – but no, there he stands, in the bleak midnight of this City of Sin – before a quiet and contemplative Lady Heather. “I don’t know why I did what I did.” Why did he do so indeed?

It had begun to rain, the droplets splashing everywhere – tingling over every single surface and orifice – and it was good they were both under the awning of her vast, what was once her Dominion – home. Deep eyes, full of meaning and knowledge locked if but for a moment, on the kinder pair of blue ocean waves, that belonged to the older gentlemen before her. “Ah but my lord, you do know why. We both do. Saisissez le jour. A chance to take hold of life and pull those reigns as if no one else could ride those horses faster. You come here thinking I am mortified with your decisions?” [Seize the day.]

Grissom only responded with a simple and affirming nod.

Lady Heather’s lips curled, that lush garnet provocative and seductive – all at the same time. “Not at all, your life is your choice, and it is the choices we make that reflect that. I do indeed envy you for taking such bold steps to ensure your own happiness. I only hope my own shall do the same for me.” Gone was her old life, the life she once knew more than anything else. A life she had all frozen and given up to have a chance at a new life with her Granddaughter, Allison.

Grissom took one step closer, and in a mirror of a time long since past – placed a hand upon her cheek, the chill of the rain bringing a slight cool to their flesh. Lady Heather felt that same jaunt in her body she did nearly four years ago, two pairs of eyes locked as Grissom’s quiet nature appeared in a hushed tone. “Perhaps I can make an honest woman out of you.”

Lady Heather felt her eyes closing over half way as Grissom leaned in, and their lips met – sealing the promise with a kiss beneath the moon, the stars, and the tingling of the rain.
